The Osteopathic Development Group grew as an initiative following a series of debates held around the country in the spring and summer of 2012 to consider the future development of the osteopathic profession.
Following these meetings, a stakeholder group comprising representatives of the Institute of Osteopathy, Council for Osteopathic Educational Institutions, the General Osteopathic Council, the National Council for Osteopathic Research and the Osteopathic Alliance came together to agree a shared development agenda.
From these initial discussions, a vision for the future and an outline action plan was formulated.
